I posted this on my Facebook page today! The engagement on it has been going nuts. Everyone is so glad that I posted this. Many people have been sharing it to their pages. So I thought maybe I should send this email to all of my followers in network marketing who could also share this with their teams, coming from me. That way you can get your team to start doing better without you having to tell them. Here it is…
ZOOM ETIQUETTE is still lacking after all these years. 🤯 And it’s costing you MONEY! I don’t understand how people don’t think about others and how what they do affects things. When you have a Zoom presentation and you worked hard to get your guests to attend, you hope that the attendees will all make sure they are not a distraction from the speaker and the content.
So let me just make a few points, so everyone can contemplate this going forward. It is important to have your camera on with you in the box, looking at the screen and paying attention. That causes the prospects to see that the information is important and they will pay attention like they see you doing. If you are multitasking and acting disinterested, that sends the opposite message, and they do the same. In addition, you need to be stationary with no distractions. You walking around or driving in your car, or on a treadmill bouncing up and down, or stuffing your face with food and chewing for all to see, or having animals walk across your desk… These are all distractions. Keep your camera off unless you are present, stationary and focused. And, dressed for success! Slouching, lying out in their bed in a robe with their computer on their stomach is a bad look. Why would you want everyone to see you looking like a slob? That turns people off. Look good, look interested, lean forward, not backward. There is science to this.
I just wish people had common sense. Whether you are at a live meeting event at a hotel sitting in a chair, or you are in a square on a Zoom, you are part of the supporting cast for the performance. What you do or don’t do matters. Can you imagine how much more effective your presentations would be if everyone adhered to this guidance? And people would get more out of training Zooms the same way.
Just trying to help ya’ll out. And trying to help ME out for anyone who is on my Zooms with me 🙂
If you agree, feel free to share this. Let’s make the (Zoom) world a better place!
