Why Network Marketing is Hard


Have you found that this business is much harder than you thought it was going to be?

Yeah, me too.  It looked SO EASY when I first got in.  But very quickly I found out the truth.  Most prospects will not have interest in our products or business, which blew my mind!  But then I worked on me, learned the industry, and found that this is the case in EVERY business or industry.  It certainly was true for me in real estate.  At any given time, very few people wanted to buy or sell a house.  So I had to keep prospecting every day – and the more I did, the luckier I got.

Most people don’t make it to high income levels in NWM, not because it’s not possible, but because they quit when they realize it takes commitment, and consistent effort.  They shrink up and run.  It’s sad how weak most people are.  They’d rather tuck tail and run away, and leave behind the dream of passive, residual income that would have given them real freedom.  They would prefer to stay stuck living check to check, working for money perpetually.  It’s what they are used to, it’s familiar and generally accepted.   We cannot change people or make them have a backbone and ambition.  But what we can do is keep looking for the people who have it.

One thing that helped me develop a strong posture that not only kept me going when I got frustrated, and made me more attractive to my prospects and team, is personal development and attending big events.  I never missed a company convention, or even a local monthly Super Saturday.  Never missed.  But I also sought out some external sources like Jim John events, Tony Robbins, etc.  And now I go to GoPro Recruiting Mastery every year in Las Vegas so I can get sharper and learn from many other 7-figure earners in the industry.  I am going to the upcoming one Dec 4-6 in Vegas next week, with Magic Johnson, John C Maxwell, and about 35 million dollar earners.  I am so pumped about going.  It’s what I need right now to fill my tank.  (By the way, I have 2 tickets left out of my bundle at $390 each, instead of the going rate of $600 each, in case anyone wants to come!  Email me for details.)

Anyway, I hope you DECIDE that you are going to see this business through to success.  I hope you are going into 2019 with a plan to invest in yourself, to grow yourself.  This is a people-attraction business, and YOU are the only one who can make you more attractive.  Look at your associations.  Get around the best of the best.  Earn your way into their space.  Watch them, so you can emulate them.  How do they think, talk, walk and act?  Are they big thinkers or small?  Are they leading by example or not?  Again, stop talking all the time with people who are stuck and not doing much… all they will do is get you stuck in the same way.

How you end your year will determine how 2019 goes.  Go into the new year with momentum.  Fill your funnel right away with brand new hot prospects.  You have to lead yourself before you lead others.  Recruit like life as you want it depends on it.
